Our Sunday School (preschool through 8th grade) uses an integrated curriculum called “Growing in Christ” whose lessons are targeted to kids according to age and learning ability. The goal is to instill real knowledge of Bible stories and how they relate to Jesus, who is the center of them. The Teen and Young Adult class is designed to equip young adults to face the challenges their faith will undergo as they move through high school into college. The Adult Instruction Class is for those new to the Lutheran Church or who want a refresher on what Lutherans believe.
The Youth Group at Christ the King is a safe, fun place for the older kids in our congregation to get together, hang out and learn how a faith in Christ can help them cope with the presures and temptations of everyday life. The group plans many activities throughout the year including bowling, hayrides, lock-ins, movie parties and much more. Give us a call, and join in the fun! You'll make friends that will last a lifetime.
Saturday mornings, twice a month, we gather in the Chapel at 9:30 am for Prayer Service. We offer prayers for the members, friends and family of Christ the King. We also offer special prayers as requested by participants or members. This is a chance to put the "power of prayer" into practice, and we encourage you to come and join us.
Looking for a way to help out Christ the King and have some fun too? Consider volunteering to work at the consession stand at an upcoming Red Wings game. It's a fun way to fellowship while helping insure our ability to maintain our beautiful facility. We have a great time serving the patrons at the game while presenting a positve outreach message to the public as well! Volunteering is easy too! Just give the office a call at 313-884-5090, or drop us an email at email@example.com. We car-pool from church before each game, so parking is no problem. Join our crew and give us a hand. We want to see some new faces!
Adult Bible Study topics vary between discussion of books of the Bible, Bible history and other topics, but always center on living out our faith in Jesus Christ in real terms. Adult Wednesday Morning Bible Class (10-11 AM, September through May) This is an intensive class, led by the pastor. It usually focuses on a single book of the Bible at a time and may take a year or two to complete.
